Current mood: And Yet They Make Profit!

They Try So Hard...
Budget based DS titles are always amusing... either the developers are trying to crank something out for a quick buck, or the premise is so quirky there is no sort of advertising involved whatsoever. Shuffling through a library of available games in a store, this particular box caught my attention instantly:

You know you're in for something special when the guy on the cover IS EXPLAINING WHO HE IS! My guess is if they just showcased the picture of him with the patented thumbs up, he might be mistaken for a pilot or just some schmuck with a headset on. Who the hell is flying those planes in the background btw, a frigg'n chimp? o_o I suppose that is where the "Chaos" element kicks in!

Strolling through the Wii section produced similar results and while I wasn't able to snap a pic of it, the name alone could tell so much about it without seeing it. "Myth Makers: Orbs of Doom" had a price tag of 10 dollars. Unless it involves a parody of sorts, anything with the attachment "of Doom" should not be used in a serious matter.

Shovelware, you so claaaazy!

I had to do some research on this travesty.
GameFAQs makes no mention of a JP release, even though Majesco Claims that Sonic Powered (the people who made From the Abyss, a mediocre action RPG.) developed it. First action RPGs... then traffic control sims? :s

Great to rate a game for 'everybody', sucky to market it to kids. Do you think Kids'll get this? <:| Worst part is that there was no JP Release, so it was somebody's bright idea to make sure he says what the heck he does.. wow. :o Great pic, Psy. Shovelware-- indeed!

You bring up an excellent point, the box art seems to be marketed toward a much younger audience, yet the overall gameplay seems to be more complex than that. I seriously doubt any child would lunge at the chance to control plane traffic o_o

Perhaps it would have been better if they used a more refined art style on the box to convey the gameplay, with a touch more realism in the scene.

Also, I wanna say this is the first time I have ever seen written dialog on a game box!

Love is indeed better than any amount of riches ^_^ <3

But yeah, we'll work together on finding a way to discover a diamond mine or a sunken pirate ship loaded with rare jewels and valuables ^w^
